As part of the university’s continuous professional development efforts, the Gender Center of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) visited the PSU-GAD Office at the Lingayen Main Campus for a formal benchmarking session, April 22, 2026.

The event commenced with an insightful opening message from Dr. Romary Lincod, PSU-GAD Director, who underscored the importance of institutional synergy.

“Our goal at PSU is to not only meet national standards but to set a regional benchmark for what an inclusive university looks like. This exchange with UPLB allows us to refine our operations and ensure that our gender-responsive initiatives are both sustainable and impactful,” Dr. Lincod stated.

This successful engagement was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the Public Relations and Information Office (PRIO) team, who served as the focal office for organizing and documenting the benchmarking activity. Their coordination ensured a seamless exchange of best practices between the two premier institutions, managing everything from logistics to the documentation of shared strategies.

Leaders from both universities shared operational strategies and reviewed PSU’s localized GAD initiatives. Reflecting on the visit, Dr. Roselle V. Collado, Director of the UPLB Gender Center, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to exchange insights with the PSU team.

“Learning doesn’t stop. Be committed to finding support and funds and using our charm and beauty,” Dr. Collado remarked, encouraging both teams to remain resourceful and persistent in their mission to create more inclusive learning environments.

This benchmarking activity underscores the vision of President Dr. Elbert M. Galas to foster inter-institutional partnerships that elevate PSU’s standards in governance and social responsibility. Under his leadership, the university continues to open its doors to collaboration with the country’s top academic institutions to ensure continuous improvement in public service.
