In a world where the call for equality and inclusivity grows louder, Pangasinan State University continues to lead by example as it embarks on another round of Gender Sensitivity Training for its employees on May 19-20, 2025.
University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas, with his vision of an industry-driven academic institution, said PSU stands by its unwavering commitment to promoting inclusivity and empowerment though the programs and activities spearheaded by the Gender and Development (GAD)Unit.
“Through this series of trainings, we re-affirm our shared mission of advancing a society where everyone-regardless of gender- can achieve their fullest potential,” President Galas said.
The first day of the two-day training that transpired at the Dr. Telesforo Boquiren Conventional Hall, started with topics on ‘Basic Gender Concepts and SOGIESC’ (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, Gender Expression and Sex Characteristics) as presented by Dr. Presley De Vera followed by the topic on ‘Creating an Inclusive and Gender Responsive Workplace’ as discussed by Dr. Juan Primitivo Petrola.
University GAD Director Dr. Romary R. Lincod, who organized the training, made a discussion on ‘Gender and Workplace Dynamics’.
“By breaking down barriers, embracing diversity and creating supportive environments, we unlock the potential of leaders – regardless of gender – enriching our community and the world, paving the way for a brighter, more equitable future,” Dr. Lincod stated.
The second day, held online featured talks on the ‘Overview of Gender Sensitivity and Legal Frameworks’ presented by Mr. Danilo Balinio and ‘Addressing Violence Against Women and Children’ (VAWC) as discussed by Mr. Ronnie Baldos.
Participants included university and campus officials, GAD coordinators, faculty members and non-teaching personnel from the nine campuses of PSU.
